Born in Munster, Germany and coached by Charley Thurley, Mark became interested in waterpolo in 1992 after returning from Germany, where his father was stationed in the army. His sporting role model is Sir Steven Redgrave because of what he has achieved. His proudest moment came, when as player -coach of Cardiff University, they won the National Championships for the third year running. He would like to play for the Great Britain team and also coach a National team some day. Michael was born in Swansea and is coached by Jonathan Griffiths and took up the sport after he joined a competitive swimming club and was introduced to waterpolo aged 11/12. Babe Ruth is his role model because he showed the world that one man can make a team, he led where others followed - he also proved that life in the fast lane doesn't necessarily impair your ability to succeed. His proudest moment was winning his first Senior cap playing in the eight nations in Switzerland (1994), and his ambition is to carry on playing waterpolo for Wales for as long as possible. Born in Wrexham, Lorenzo started playing aged 14 after swimming training at Leeds and became the youngest player to play for the NE District. His sporting role is Bjorn Bjorg - winning 5 Wimbledon Championships on the run and being ice-cool under pressure. His proudest moments are when he is representing Wales and his ambition is to see any children he has, represent Wales or England at any sport. Domestic Events: Numerous swimming titles, played at School, Junior & Senior District level, Northern league winner, numerous 2nd Division titles. International Events: 6 Home International Tournaments, Represented Wales all over Europe. |

David was born in Leamington Spa and is coached by Louis Eperjesi and became interested in the sport because Jim Shekdar (Bold man of the Sea) was his role model through his school years. He admires several sportsmen - Michael Schumacher for his ruthlessness, Michael Owen for his natural speed , agility and humbleness and Scott Quinnell for the passion he brings to those around him. His proudest moment was teaching his children to ski and says it is a little too late for for ambitions in waterpolo! Chris was born in Preston and is coached by Jon Griffiths and started playing, aged 12, in his father's team, who he says is his sporting role model because he is still playing after 38 years in the sport. His proudest moment was when he was player of the 1999 British Universities tournament and his ambition is to be happy, healthy and wealthy. Ceri was born in Swansea and is coached by John Griffiths and at the age of 16, Cardiff City Swimming Club started a junior session and it seemed more interesting than swimming. His role model is any sports person who has the determination to train hard and sacrifice other things in order to achieve their ultimate goal. His ambition is to compete in a marathon or a triathlon. Born in Swansea, Nigel is coached by Jonathan Girths and took up the sport in 1981 at the local club which had several teams and it seemed better than swimming up and down all the time. He admires anyone who strives to be the best they can be and his proudest moment was being selected for the Commonwealth tournament.
