Garrett Head - Goalie
6'2"/195lbs (1977)

Garrett is a Windsor native and attended Riverside Secondary in Windsor and Westdale Secondary School in Hamilton. His home club now is the Calgary Renegades. They were the 1998 National Champions and finished second at the 1998 National Team Cup. He has been with the national senior program for the past three years and spent the previous five years with the junior national team. At the 1996 Junior Pan Am Championships, Garrett was named the most valuable goalie, an honour he also captured at the national championships several times. Garrett was a member of the senior team at the 1998 World Aquatic Championship in Perth, Australia. In 1999, he will play in the Australian semipro league with the Perth Torpedoes. Garrett was also part of the bronze medal team at the 1999 Pan Am Games in Winnipeg.

Adam Deffett - 2m Guard
6'4"/220lbs (1979)

 
Adam was born in Toronto. He attended both Sir Fredrick Banting Secondary in London and York Mills Collegiate in Toronto, graduating in 1998 and making the honour role. Before joining the national team, Adam played with the London Lasers until 1996, when he moved to the York Mavericks in Toronto. He was a member of the junior national team for four years. He saw action at the juvenile, junior and senior nationals from 1994 to 1998, and was a member of the national juvenile championship team in 1997. Adam was also part of the bronze medal team at the 1999 Pan Am Games in Winnipeg. He played at the 1999 World Junior Championships in Kuwait, where Canada recorded its best-ever Junior Men's international result.

Dusan (Duke) Lazarevic - Centre
6'4"/235lbs (1979)

Born in Yugoslavia, Duke now calls Toronto his home. His local club team is the York Mavericks. Duke has competed at the nationals since 1995 as a juvenile, junior and now senior player. He has been a member of two national championship teams. Duke played at the 1999 World Junior Championships in Kuwait, where Canada recorded its best-ever international Junior Men's team result.

Thomas Marks - Driver
6'3"/190lbs (1980)

 
Thomas' hometown is Vancouver, BC, and his club team is Pacific Storm. He is majoring in Sciences at Simon Fraser University. Thomas has been selected as an All Star at the Junior level in 1999, and at the Juvenile level in 1997. He was a member of the World Championship qualifying team, which placed second to Cuba. Thomas was part of the Junior Men's National Team at the Junior Men's World Championships in Kuwait, October 1999, where Canada achieved its best-ever international Junior Men's team result.

Noah Miller - Driver
6'1"/170 lbs (1980)

Noah was born in Regina Saskatchewan, and graduated from Sheldon Williams Collegiate. He is at present studying at the University of Calgary. His home team is Regina Squids. He has been a member of the National Junior Men's team since 1997. Noah has played in a variety of national and provincial championships and has received 13 All Star nominations over the past four years. He was named MVP at the 1999 Junior Nationals. He participated in the Americas Cup World Qualifications in Havana, Cuba in 1998. Also in 1998, Noah was selected for the Senior Men's team. In 1999 he participated in the FISU Games, Spain, and the 1999 Junior Men's World Championship in Kuwait, where Canada achieved its best-ever international Junior Men's result.

Kent Hardisty - Centre
6'3"/210lbs (1968)

Kent was born in Regina and graduated from high school in 1986. His local club now is the Calgary Renegades. He has seen competition at the 1983, 1984, and 1985 juvenile nationals, the 1986 junior nationals and the senior nationals in 1990, 1991, 1993 and 1997. He competed at World Aquatic Championships in 1986, 1994 and 1998, and was a member of two national championship teams. He was also part of the bronze medal team at the 1999 Pan Am Games in Winnipeg. Kent is the most experienced player on the team and is also considered the most versatile. He will spend part of this season playing professionally in Yugoslavia.

Mikael Sabo - Centre
6'2"/200lbs (1972)

Mikael graduated from College Laval in Montreal in 1989. Although his local club is Laval, Mikael has been on loan to the Pacific Storm in Vancouver. He moved up to the national program and was the junior national MVP in 1991. In his two years with the junior national team, Mikael played at the 1990 World Qualifications in Puerto Rico and the 1991 Worlds in Los Angeles. Mikael has been a senior nationals all-star every year. With the senior team, he competed at the World Aquatic Championships in Rome, Italy in 1994 and in Perth, Australia in 1998. He was also part of the bronze medal team at the 1999 Pan Am Games in Winnipeg.

Robin Randall - Goalie
6'5"/180lbs (1980)

Robin was born in Drinkwater, Saskatchewan and he attends University of Calgary, majoring in political science. Robin's club team is the Regina Squids. He began involvement with water polo in 1989, following in his brother's footsteps. He has won many awards, notably three Western Cadet Championship MVG in '92, '94 and '95, two National Club Championship All Star awards in '96 and '98, three MVG awards in two years at the National Club Championships. He was an integral member of the Junior Men's National Team at the Junior Men's World Championships in Kuwait, October 1999, where Canada achieved its best-ever international Junior Men's team result.

Kevin Mitchell
5' 9"/170kg (1981)

 

Born in Vancouver he took up the sport at 9 years of age and says his dad is his role model, pushing him to the limits and encouraging him to do his best at everything he does. His proudest moment came at the World Junior Championships in 2001 and his ambition is to play waterpolo, finish school and become an elementary teacher.

Nathaniel Miller

Born in Point Claire and coached by John Csikos, he started playing aged 12 at a local outdoor pool in Montreal. His sporting role model is Michael Jordan because of his mental toughness, resistance and dedication and his ambition is to be happy, have kids and live by the beach after 60. The proudest sporting moment of his career was at the Junior Worlds and a bronze medal at the PanAm Games in 1999.

He took up the sport at the age of 10 through some friends and is coached by John Csikos His proudest moment was winning the Juvenile Men's Nationals in 2001.

Born in North Vancouver and coached by Michael Roy, he took up the sport aged 12 at a local swimming club who also had a waterpolo team. His proudest moment was representing Canada and his ambition success through happiness.

Born in Montreal and coached by John Csikos, Mike took up the sport playing summer leagues in Montreal. His role models are Mario Lemieux - the Magnificent and Silvio Manfredi a former DDO player and his proudest moments have been beating Cuba at the World Qualifiers and beating Italy at FASO. His main ambition is to play in the Olympics.
